Position #1: This postdoctoral position will conduct a vigorous research program in the Department of Molecular and Structural Biochemistry by performing studies of cellular detoxification enzymes at the molecular level. Such research will require the use of modern techniques in enzymology, molecular biology, structural biology, mammalian cell culture and transfection, and in vitro protein analysis (western, immunoprecipitation, immunofluorescence). This position will be responsible for sharing and reporting the results of the research by publishing papers in peer-reviewed scientific journals and participating in scientific meetings, seminar series, and other appropriate professional activities. Sharing of research will also involve providing guidance to undergraduate and graduate students in the laboratory.  APPLY

Position #2: The Research Assistant will perform molecular biology techniques; transform and culture bacteria for protein production; perform routine culture, transfection, maintenance and assay of human cell lines. The incumbent will perform experiments involving PCR, preparation of DNA and RNA, aseptic technique, protein purification and western blot analysis. The incumbent will also assist with protein crystallization screening and optimization, as well as assist with the day-to-day management of the research laboratory operations including supervising students, ensuring compliance with chemical and biosafety regulations and ordering supplies and reagents. Attendance at regularly scheduled lab meetings is expected.   APPLY
